Support — Road Trip: Nebraska Plates

Something not working, or a county fact that looks wrong? Email jared@keepsakecurators.com and you'll get a reply from a real person. Please include your device model, your iOS or Android version, and the app version (Settings tab, at the bottom).

How do I play?

Watch for license plates out the car window. When you spot one, open the app and tap it off the list — that's the whole game. Tap a row a second time to undo it if you tapped the wrong one. There's no camera and no scanning: it runs on the honor system, the way the game has always been played.

What are the numbers on Nebraska plates?

Nebraska assigned every county a number in 1922, ranked by how many vehicles were registered there at the time. Douglas County was #1, Lancaster #2, Gage #3, and so on down to Hooker at #93. Plenty of plates still carry that number as a prefix, and spotting all 93 in a year is the classic Nebraska road-trip challenge.

Why can't I find #1, #2, or #59?

Douglas (1), Lancaster (2), and Sarpy (59) — the three most populous counties — switched to unnumbered "ABC 123" plates in 2002. Numbered plates from them still exist, but they're genuinely rare, so the app flags them as rare finds. Yes, this means the three easiest counties to drive through are the three hardest to check off. That's the game.

These numbers don't match the county codes I've seen elsewhere

Nebraska has two different county numbering systems, and they disagree. License plates use the 1922 registration-rank numbers described above. The Nebraska Department of Revenue uses a separate alphabetical coding, where Adams is 01 and York is 93. The app uses the plate numbers, which are the ones you'll actually see on the road.

When does the game reset?

Every January 1. Your yearly hunt starts fresh, but nothing is lost — switch to the All Time view to see everything you've ever spotted, and past years stay in your history.

I paid for the Full Catalog Unlock and it's gone

Open the Settings tab and tap Restore. That re-checks your Apple or Google account for the purchase and re-applies it — this is what to use after reinstalling, resetting, or switching to a new phone.

The purchase is tied to the store account that bought it. It won't transfer to a different Apple ID or Google account, and an iOS purchase doesn't carry over to Android (or the other way round) — the two stores are separate.

If Restore doesn't bring it back, email us with the date of purchase and which store you bought from.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by the store, not by us — we never see your payment details. On iOS, use reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, use Google Play's refund request page. If a store denies your request and you think the app is at fault, email us.

Does it need internet?

No. The whole game works offline, which is the point — it's built for the middle of the Sandhills. The only thing that needs a connection is making or restoring the in-app purchase.

Does it use my camera or location?

No, neither. The app requests no permissions at all. See the privacy policy for the details.

I found a county fact that's wrong

Please tell us — email the county name and what's off, and a source if you have one. Corrections go into the next update.

How do I delete my data?

Settings tab → Reset everything erases all plates, history, and achievements. Uninstalling the app removes the local database entirely. There's nothing stored on our end to delete.
